Data Deletion Instructions

We respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data. This page explains what data we collect when you use our services and how to request deletion of your data.

What User Data We Collect

When you sign in to Earplugs and Memories using Google or Facebook, we collect and store the following information:

Authentication Information

  • Your name (from Google/Facebook)
  • Your email address
  • Your profile photo URL
  • Unique user ID from the authentication provider

Content You Create

  • Photos you upload to concert pages
  • Photo captions you write
  • Comments you post on concerts
  • Setlist submissions you make
  • Timestamps of when you uploaded content

Technical Data

  • Authentication session information
  • File metadata (photo size, type, upload time)

Note: We do NOT store your Google or Facebook passwords. Authentication is handled securely through Google Firebase Authentication.

How to Delete Your Data

You have two options for deleting your data from our system:

Option 1: Delete Content Yourself

You can manually delete your content while signed in:

  1. Sign in to the website using Google or Facebook
  2. Delete your photos:
    • Go to any concert page where you uploaded photos
    • Hover over your photos and click the trash icon
    • Confirm deletion
  3. Delete your comments:
    • Find comments you've posted on concert pages
    • Click the delete button next to your comments
    • Confirm deletion
  4. Revoke authentication access:

Option 2: Request Complete Data Deletion

If you want us to delete all your data from our system, send an email to:

Please include the following information in your email:

  • Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  • The email address associated with your account
  • The name displayed on your account
  • Whether you signed in with Google or Facebook
  • Any specific data you want deleted (or request "all data")

Example Email:
Subject: Data Deletion Request

Hi, I would like to request deletion of all my data from Earplugs and Memories. My account email is john.doe@example.com and I signed in using Google. Please delete all my photos, comments, and authentication information. Thank you.

What Happens After Your Deletion Request

We Acknowledge Your Request

We will send you a confirmation email within 2 business days acknowledging receipt of your deletion request.

We Process the Deletion

Within 30 days, we will permanently delete the following from our systems:

  • All photos you uploaded and their storage files
  • All comments and captions you wrote
  • Your authentication profile (name, email, photo URL)
  • Any pending setlist submissions you made
  • All associated metadata and timestamps

We Confirm Completion

Once your data has been deleted, we will send you a final confirmation email. After this, you will no longer be able to sign in unless you create a new account.

Note: Some data may be retained for legal or security purposes (such as abuse prevention or legal compliance) but will not be used for any other purpose and will not be publicly visible.

Data Stored by Third Parties

Please note that deleting your data from Earplugs and Memories does not automatically delete data held by Google or Facebook. To delete data from these services:
